WORKING SHEEPDOG SALES
Sunderlands & Thompsons conduct two regular auction sales of working sheepdogs every year. The sales are conducted in the Spring and Autumn and have been extremely successful attracting large crowds from all over the country. The auctioneer, Matthew Nicholls, is well versed in selling working sheepdogs and has a very keen and genuine interest in the subject which has its obvious advantages. We have made some key improvements to the sale field which allows vendors to illustrate the true capabilities of the dogs and allows purchasers to see a dogs true potential.
We produce a full and detailed catalogue of all the entries which is available upon request a week before the sale.
SALE PROCEDURE
The vendors are allowed approximately two minutes to demonstrate the dog in a field with four to five sheep and then the dog is offered for sale by public auction and sold in Guineas to the highest bidder, subject to the approval of the vendor.

The sale field is known as Little Ffordd Fawr Fields, Hay-on-Wye, HR3 5PR and is located adjacent to the B4350 between Hay-on-Wye and Glasbury next to the Hollybush Pub Inn.
