STORE CATTLE
Our store cattle sales are renowned throughout the UK for the consistant show of quality cattle on offer twelve months of the year. As a result we have buyers from all corners of the country who make the monthly journey to Talgarth to satisfy their buying requirements. Several store animals have been purchased out of Talgarth market and have gone on to win several shows around the country. This is a further accolade to the quality of cattle produced in this area.
We have regular buyers for all types of cattle from those younger grazing types to those half finished older cattle.
BARREN COWS
Our Barren cow section has gone from strenght to strenght over the last twelve months and we have regular buyers requiring cows every month. Demand is definately outstripping supply and we definately require more cattle on a monthly basis.
ORGANIC CATTLE
Talgarth Market is registered as an Organic Livestock Centre under the auspices of the Quality Welsh Food Certification Ltd, Aberystwyth and conducts regular Organic store cattle sales in conjuction with our conventional sale. We have the benefit of several fattening units in close proximity to Talgarth which regularly require organic store cattle every month. There appears to be a definate shortage of organics and we would actively encourage producers to enter cattle for our monthly catalogued sales.
For all of the above sections we produce a full catalogue of all the cattle to be sold, which is also sent to our full list of registered buyers up and down the country.
